New Pegasus Airlines already in Poland

Author: AirCashBack 06-07-2023

A new low-cost airline has entered the Polish aviation market. Due to the popularity of Turkey as a destination among Poles, the entry of a Turkish low-cost carrier pleases many travelers, especially those who prefer to organize travel on their own.

Pegasus Airlines with first connections in Poland

Until now, connections between Poland and Turkey have focused mainly on charter flights, but this trend is now seeing a change. Turkish Airlines recently launched flights from Krakow to Istanbul (originally to be operated from Katowice), and Sun Express, a joint venture between Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, offers connections from Krakow to Antalya. Now Pegasus Airlines has also joined them, introducing a new route.

Pegasus Airlines flight schedule

Pegasus Airlines has been planning to introduce its offer to Polish passengers for many years, and now, this year, it has succeeded. Passengers can already book flights on the Warsaw-Ankara route, although a connection from Lodz or Modlin was also previously considered.

The connection was launched on June 4 and will operate seasonally until October 22. For the launch, the flights run once a week. On Sundays, Pegasus Airlines departs Ankara Airport at 10:15 a.m. and lands at Warsaw Chopin Airport at 12:05 p.m., before returning to Turkey at 1:05 p.m. However, starting in July, Pegasus will operate this route twice a week, including Wednesdays.

Prices on Pegasus Airlines

Even before the launch of the new route, tickets for flights could be purchased via the mobile app. At that time, one-way ticket prices started at around 325 zlotys (about 1,500 Turkish Liras). We decided to check what the current prices look like after the tickets are available for booking via the website.

It turns out that prices are relatively high for a low-cost airline. For example, a one-way flight on Sunday, June 25, at the basic fare (basic) including carry-on baggage, costs PLN 955.40. In contrast, a return flight on Wednesday, July 5, at the same fare, costs PLN 472.51.
